Go To Leggings Again and Again and Again......

Go To Leggings are one of my favourite patterns.

A definite staple here for my dress loving girl.

I thought it'd be fun to do a bit of a round-up of all the different versions of Go To Leggings I've made.

From top left, white, purple, turquoise, brown, grey, brown, and the white
are the new ones. 

I whipped three pair up the other day--they are already all in the wash and I got one of them modeled on my daughter before they were rendered too dirty for pictures.

So, the bottom left picture (the white ones) are one of the three pairs I just made. It's one of two white ones and a grey one, so there should be two more in the collage.

Saucy Skirt and Flyaway Ruffle Cardi--a Pattern Test

When I got to test April's newest patterns from Dandelions 'n Dungarees, I was rather excited.

They fit perfectly with my goal of sewing all my kids some fall/winter Sunday clothes.

 

Let me introduce the Saucy Skirt and the Flyaway Ruffle Cardi!

 

 

I really like how it turned out. Instead of the knit fabric ruffles that were shown in the tutorial, I gave it a try with some ready made eyelet lace that I got from a friend.

 

 

The body of the Cardi I made with a nice ponte knit from Girl Charlee (referral link).

It's left over from my husband's Newcastle Cardigan.

 

The finishing of the neckline looks so professional with some bias tape.

And, I love the look of the one button closure.

 

For the skirt, I used some of the left over cotton-spandex fabric from my Color Block Dress which is also from Girl Charlee.  

It has options for a single layered skirt, a double layered skirt and a double layered skirt with a super cute tie.

I couldn't resist the tie.

 

To finish off the look, I whipped up a pair comfy ponte knit version of Go-To Leggings. (affiliate link)



And, a Sunday outfit for my youngest daughter.

They Definitely are Go-To Patterns

A lot of my daughter's dresses are very stained and getting too short.

And, she does not like to wear jeans or pants.

Every morning, she wears a dress and if I make her wear pants or jeans, there are tears--unless she has a new top to wear that she is excited about...ha.

 

 

I had found a number of ladies shirts at Walmart for $3 each.

And, I came home with 6 or so of them.

These two were bought with the Anywhere Dress (affiliate link) in mind.

The purple Go-To Leggings (affiliate link) are a heather purple rib knit from Fabric.com (affiliate link) a long time ago.

 

For both, I re-used the neck line and re-hemmed the bottom.

 

I loved the button placket and was determined to incorporate them into the dress.



The white leggings (I made two pairs--one full length, the other between capri and short length for the summer) are made from a thrift store find--$0.50!

 



 

They all got a pretty pink tag to differentiate between front and back.

 

My daughter loves them.

Flowers and sparkly purple--how much better can it get?!

Go-To Leggings

 

Andrea, from Go-To Patterns and The Train to Crazy, is having a blog tour on her blog and I'm joining in!

I have really enjoyed sewing up a number of her patterns and have a number to still sew up one of these days.  

 

Last Spring I had whipped up an Anywhere Dress (details here) from Go-To Patterns.

It still fits my daughter, so to make it a little more fall friendly, I thought I'd whip up some Go-To Leggings.

I had bought the pattern a while back already with the intent to sew these up--the blog tour was just the motivation I needed.

 (I had actually covered up my sewing machine already in preparation for our trip to Cuba, but pulled it out to whip these up!)

 

 

The first word out of my daughter's mouth when she put them on was, 'Comfy!'

That means success!

 

And, they do look comfy--I want to whip myself up a bunch of leggings now.

They're so easy to sew up, and fast--I can see myself making them assembly line style.

 

They add a whole new level of modesty--no more undies peaking out!

 

The fabric is from Fabric.com. It is a rib knit--so soft!

(I used the same on the Anywhere Dress but you can tell that it has been worn and washed a lot! The color is slightly different now...)

The leggings are sewn in size 3T.

Both patterns are great patterns--easy to sew up, and perfect for your first knit project!

'Fluffy' had to get in on the pictures :)
