Girl's Bundle-Up Bundle

It's Bundle Up! time again!
This time it's a girl's bundle.

http://patternrevolution.com/blog/2015/1/19/bundle-up-girls-blog-tour

I sewed up the Adeline Knit Ruffled Cardigan and the Wide Leg Pants--both of them are in the bundle.

For the cardigan, I used a Riley Blake knit, a Girl Charlee knit for the lining, and a simple white woven cotton. It's a bit thinner than quilting cotton.
So the cardigan is fully lined except for the sleeves.
It can be made as a cardigan or dress or top, with or without ruffles.
For the buttons, I used Kamsnaps. I really like how they work for baby clothes.

For the pants I used a Premier Prints twill that I had ordered years ago from Fabric.com.
They feature a knit fabric waistband and the main pant can be made in woven or knit with two different pocket options. I opted to go pocket-less as she can't use them yet anyway.

You can get these both in the Bundle Up!

Shake It Up! Contest

(This post contains affiliate links. I get a small commission if you buy through those links. Thanks!)

Ok, so I usually never watch pop music videos.
Like NEVER!
But, I thought it'd be fun to join in this contest, so I watched one--Shake it Off.
I was reminded why I don't like watching them.
But, all that put aside, here is a screen shot of what was my inspiration for the outfit I'm entering:

And....here is my version:

I used the Peek-a-boo Skinny Jeans for the orange jeans and the Alex & Anna Winter PJs for the top.
I couldn't resist adding a little something to liven up the shirt--so I used my free Corsair Applique pattern, traced it on freezer paper and did a freezer paper stencil.

Fabrics for the top are from Girl Charlee and the denim for the jeans is from Canadian National Fabric.

Princess Party Dress--Betties Swap

My daughter is in love.
With a dress.
But, it's not just any dress.

It's supposed to be a 'dress-up' dress.
With the beautiful see-through sleeves and delicate polka-dot fabric.

It's perfect to be a princess in.

 A fierce, sword-bearing princess.

 Or a smiley princess.

Who has to engage in life-threatening battles with fierce brothers dragons every now and then.

 Or a cool princess.

But she's been wearing it every time it's clean.
I really think it's become more of an everyday dress.
A dress my daughter loves and feels rather princess-like in.

You can get the pattern from MandyK Designs here (craftsy) or here (etsy).

Free Leggings Pattern

Dandelions 'n Dungarees has released a new pattern--a FREE Basic Leggings pattern which I had fun testing!

They include sizes for dolls, both 15" and 18", and all the way from NB to 16!
So, a huge size range.

I love that they are a bit longer than the usual ones I use--no riding up the legs.

I sewed up the 6m size for my daughter and they are a great fit other than the back rise was a little low but it was adjusted in the final pattern.
I didn't think it would work, but they work pretty decent for cloth diapers as well. That's what she usually wears them with.

The fabric is a cotton/spandex from Girl Charlee. (referral link)

Ha, and trying to take pictures of a little mover is rather difficult...every time I pointed my camera at her, she'd turn or move...
Now that she's standing too it'll be even harder, I think!
